One of the most significant social and political developments of the past decades has been the growing Islamic revival wave throughout the Muslim word. The Islamic resurgence, often misleadingly labeled Islamic “fundamentalism”, by some scholars and secular political leaders. They forget the religious revival, which has been developed as one of the future trends of the last decade and will develop in the future decade or in the year 2000. Islam Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Shinto religion will revive in the modern word, to day and tomorrow. Only the color and the intensity of revival will be different, especially between Islam dan Christianity, because the difference in theology and principle of these two great religions.
The goal of this book is to enable readers to understand and appreciate what Islam in Indonesia is and its contemporary challenges, and what we Muslims in Indonesia have struggled to respond to the current situation in the nation.
